One of the sessions, Children’s 1^st Page Critique, will give participants a hands-on experience in understanding what compels editors and readers to read beyond the first page of any manuscript.  Several participants will have the opportunity to have their submission critiqued by Nancy and the class.  Nancy will also be available for a one page critique to conference attendees, based on time availability.

In addition to her session on what makes a great first page to your manuscript, Nancy will also be leading a session on writing humor for kids.  She will teach simple strategies any writer can use, even if you’re one of those people who just can’t tell a joke. Whether you want to add tidbits of tickles to a serious story for children or want to write books that make kids laugh so hard they fall out of their chair in a fit of giggles and gut-belly laughs, this workshop will teach you how.
